Second Life is a virtual world created by its users. It is a free program to download and use. You get your own avatar that is completely customizable and you have the ability to create items (if you can figure out how). The free account is available to all but you can choose to upgrade to a premium account for $9.95/ month which gives you a small weekly income of Linden dollars and a small parcel of land. You can also buy land if you choose to pay monthly land use fees, which depend on the size of land you want.
There are tons of different things to do and see in SL. You can also be a creator and add to what is already there. Second Life is very social. There are people everywhere from all over the world. Most people seem eager to have interactions with others so it is easy to meet people. There is much potential to reach out to a large number of people in this interesting virtual world.
